Our carpet cleaning services provide peace of mind by including the following:

Our carpet cleaning process:

  • Step 1: Pre-inspection
Our technician does a walk-through inspection with you to identify conditions, carpet construction, potential permanent stains, and any areas of special concern you may have.
  • Step 2: Commercial pre-vacuum
Your carpet is thoroughly vacuumed with a commercial vacuum cleaner to remove dry soil. This is one of the most important steps in the cleaning process.
  • Step 3: Furniture moving
Sofas, chairs, and tables are carefully moved if you wish. Larger pieces, such as beds and dressers, are typically left in place unless prior arrangements have been made. Furniture is protected with disposable blocks and tabs.
  • Step 4: Pre-spot
    Spots are pre-treated as needed.
  • Step 5: Pre-spray and pre-groom
Your carpet is pre-conditioned with the appropriate product to suspend soil for more effective soil and spot removal. Our pre-spray is a CRI (Carpet and Rug Institute) tested and approved environmentally-friendly product. Your carpet is pre-groomed with a carpet groomer where necessary (depending on soil level), to further loosen traffic area soil.
  • Step 6: Extract and rinse
Once the soil has been loosened, our state-of-the-art truck-mounted hot water extraction cleaning process thoroughly flushes the carpet pile. Pressure and heat are regulated to prevent the carpet from being over-wet. This step sanitizes and deodorizes your carpet.
  • Step 7: pH-balancing rinse
Every carpet that we clean is pH-balanced so there is no sticky residue left behind. This treatment is applied during the rinse phase.
  • Step 8: Post spot treatment
If any spots are not removed during the cleaning process, specialty spotting techniques are utilized- we have written procedures for almost every situation.
Note: Potentially permanent stains, as identified by the technician, may not be removed.
  • Step 9: Carpet protection (optional)
Applying carpet protection will serve to guard your carpet against both dry and liquid soil. To keep your carpet looking as new as possible, the CRI recommends re-applying protection every 12-18 months.
  • Step 10: Speed dry
High-velocity fans are placed on the carpet to speed-dry the carpet.
  • Step 11: Post grooming
The carpet pile is groomed in one direction using a carpet rake to aid with the appearance and the drying process.
  • Step 12: Post cleaning inspection
Our technician walks through your home with you to go over the cleaning results and to ensure that you are completely satisfied with the job.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How much does it cost to have my carpets professionally cleaned?

We are happy to provide a free pre-inspection and price quote. We do not offer flat pricing since each home or business is different and comes with its own set of unique circumstances.  There are many factors that can affect pricing.  It is necessary to physically inspect and measure the areas to be cleaned to determine factors such as soil level, pet stains or odors, amount of furniture to be moved, multi-level homes or businesses that affect ease of access, and exact measurement of the area to be cleaned.

How often should I clean my carpets and which method is the best?

Most carpet manufacturers recommend the Hot Water Extraction method (used by Purity) because it penetrates deep into the fibers and lifts out the dirt and pollutants we track in on our shoes as well as dust mites and other allergens that affect the air quality in our homes.   The national Carpet and Rug Institute recommends having your carpets deep cleaned a minimum of once per year.  For high traffic households with pets, children, or if you smoke in your home it is recommended as frequently as every 3 months.

Do I need to vacuum before you arrive?

Please thoroughly vacuum your carpets (especially your high-traffic areas) before we arrive.  Our technician will also vacuum as part of our exclusive 12 Step Cleaning Process.

Will you move my furniture?

We will discuss furniture movement at the pre-inspection if you require assistance.  Otherwise, please remove small pieces of furniture, such as dining room chairs, ottomans, end tables, etc. from the areas you plan to have us clean, as well as all breakable items from furniture which we will be moving.  Please advise our technician upon arrival about any special requirements on moving your furniture; weak legs, loose tops, etc.  Heavy furniture (china hutches, entertainment centers, etc.) generally will not be moved, unless prior arrangements have been made.

How long will it take to clean my carpets?

Many factors are considered in the cleaning process. A timeline can best be determined when our technician visits your property to do a free pre-inspection.

How long will it take for my carpets to dry?

Most carpets typically dry within a few hours of cleaning.  Expect your carpets to be fully dry and able to move furniture back within 8 – 12 hours.  We do recommend that foot traffic is kept to a minimum until the carpet is completely dry to prevent re-soiling of the carpet. Carpets are more vulnerable to staining when they are wet.

Can you guarantee 100% pet stain and odor removal?

We do offer special deodorization products that can help eliminate pet odors.  However, depending on the depth of contamination, 100% odor-elimination success may not be attainable.  Pet urine and odors usually are beyond the surface of the carpet and also include the carpet pad and sub-floor. Cleaning the surface of the carpet will NOT always remove pet odors. Proper pet urine and odor treatment involve treating the carpet pad beneath, treating and sealing the subfloor, as well as cleaning the carpet; and still, 100% of the stain and odor may not be removed.  The only way to fully remove all pet urine odors from carpet is to replace the carpet, carpet pad, and either seal or replace the sub-floor beneath; therefore, we do NOT guarantee complete pet odor or stain removal.  The same is true for upholstery.  In many cases, since the urine goes deep into the interior padding/stuffing, the only way to completely remove urine and urine odors in upholstery is to fully wash the fabric and replace the interior stuffing/padding

Is carpet protector really necessary?

Carpet protector will extend the life of your carpet. Your carpet will be better protected from water, dirt, mold and bacteria. A carpet protector will to save money in the long run.  Dry soil, acid dyes and liquid spills can cause serious damage to your carpet. Soil is abrasive and can quickly ruin your carpet’s appearance. However, it will be a lot easier for you to clean up the dry soil if you have a carpet protector.  Acid dyes are found in certain foods and drinks. Once acid dyes get deep down into your carpet, they can become a permanent part of it. A carpet protector can prevent the stains from penetrating your carpet.  Grease, oil and tar are other examples of things that can ruin your carpet. A carpet protector can also make it easier for you to clean up these stains. You will have an easier time vacuuming. Furthermore, carpet protectors work by creating a barrier against stains, spills and dirt.

The left side of the carpet was treated with carpet protector and the right side was not. The carpet was then equally exposed to heavy soiling and abrasion and then simply vacuumed.  Carpet Protector helps preserve the life of your carpet and makes every day cleaning more effective.

Do I need to be home while you clean?

It is not necessary for you to be home while we clean as long as you have made prior arrangements with us to gain entry into your home and there is no one under the age of 18 present in the home in your absence.  Prior arrangement for payment will need to be made as well since payment is due at time of service.  In most cases leaving a check on the counter will be just fine and we will leave a receipt in its place when we leave.  You may also pay in advance by credit card over the phone or online.

Are your cleaning products safe?

We strive to use cleaning products that are safe for your family and pets, and the environment as well! If you have any questions or concerns about our products, we’ll be happy to answer them. Material Safety Data Sheets are also available upon request for any of the cleaning products we use.

Do I need to provide access to water?

Yes. We will need access to cold water through an outside spigot or another source that has the ability to have a hose attached to it.
